What an adventure! I really have some of the funnest friends. This year our team was "Guys and Dolls" It was a team of couples and I'm pretty sure I was destine from the start to not run this race. My brother was supposed to by my partner since Chris doesn't run and Jimmy thought it sounded fun. Once Jim started training, he realized he doesn't love running as much as he thought he might, so he bailed. I got another friend to take his place, so it all worked out.
The week before the race, one of the other couples had a family situation and had to cancel. It being last minute, I called my friend Kristy up in Idaho to come take one of the spots. She got another friend to take the other spot and we were good to go.
The day we were leaving I got a call from my partner that it wasn't going to work out for her to come. No worries, I knew we had some strong runners and we could take on the extra miles. Kristy, Stephanie, Brian and I headed out to Southern Utah to get ready for the race. After we got there we found that the extra fill in person also couldn't make the race, now we were down two runners in our car, YIKES!
We had the best captain. I called Jaqui to let her know and she calmly and collectively got it all figured out and we again were good to go. The race turned out awesome as usual. Our van was so fun, honking at people and squirting them down when it was hot. We yelled and got yelled at. FUN!
The start of the race was freezing! Brian started us out and did the first two legs. He was an animal.

The whole race was gorgeous and challenging. Everyone did such a great job and I'm sure they left all feeling proud of their personal accomplishments.
Looking forward to Red Rock Moab in the spring and anyone else who wants to join us!
