Flying Penguins

Tyler got invited to play for the Flying Penguins, which is basically the travel team for the Lightning. Their first tournament was in Anaheim over Easter weekend. We went down Wednesday and stayed with Chris' aunt and uncle.

They played Friday morning in Westminster, CA and won! Then they played again that night and won! Aunt Cheri and Uncle Jim were so nice to come watch him play his Friday night game, they even got to see Tyler score!!
Saturday Tyler had a game mid day at the Ducks NHL practice rink. It was so cool! They had quite the set up. They had a little hockey pad for some street hockey and huge blow-up ducks. There was a radio station there and some other things going on.





Saturday's game was also Alexa's birthday. Chris' other Uncle Dave and Aunt Stacey made the trek to come watch. I'm so glad they came up, I was worried we were going to miss them. It was nice to see them and it was fun for Tyler to have so much family come watch. Chris' cousins, Yvonne, Linda and Michelle came to watch too. The girls had slept over at their house and partied for Lexi's birthday.

After the game we went out to lunch to celebrate and spend a little more time with the family. My Uncle Scott came down to watch the game too, but there was a major accident so he missed the game but spent the rest of the afternoon with us at lunch and by the pool with the kids. Sadly, I missed taking a picture. I must need to go back.
Sunday morning they had an early game, Tyler scored again! and they made it to the championship undefeated. Their Championship game was later in the day, so we headed to DL in between games.

They won! It was such a fun trip, I look forward to many more. The Flying Penguins have been invited back for Memorial Day for another tournament. Looks like we need to get some sponsors :)
