Happy Days

This week so far has been...dare I say, FABULOUS! I just want to soak up each happy moment. I really didn't have much hope for this week because it's one of those busy ones that you feel super overwhelmed with and there is way too much to do, but no one can really relieve you.

Sunday the kids spent the morning watching TV until we kicked them off to watch the hockey game. I went to get ready for Stake Conference, but after my shower I ended up taking a nap and missing it. Chris and I decided to play with the kids instead. We made their Valentines and then they chose to play Rockband, and after a short while we changed it to hide n' seek. We enjoyed a simple dinner of grilled cheese, then the babies were off to bed!

Monday was super crazy busy. I got to run outside in the beautiful sunshine and hard wind. Then I ended up volunteering for the 6th grade Mid evil times for most of the afternoon. I was supposed to help with Caely's valentines party, but the 6th grade needed me more. I really enjoyed hanging out with all the kids.
For family night we just sat at the table and talked while eating cupcakes and ice cream. Tyler had a fun game they play in his class so he taught it to us to play. It's charades, but you sit in a circle and the first person starts doing something and person next to them asks, "what are you doing?" What ever the 1st person replies is what the second person starts doing, and so on and so on. It was really funny, the kids can't wait for the family to get together to play.
The kids went to bed great.

Today is not over, but it's been my favorite so far. After a bike ride early this morning my day went full throttle. I got Patch off to school, then headed to the elementary school to do some PTA stuff. I then went and visited Alexa in her class and went to recess with her. Then it was time for me to volunteer in Caely's class. I love spending time with her, and most her friends are in her class so we always have a good time. I got to go to lunch with Caely and we found Tyler and sat at his table with his friends. They are all really fun to be around. We traded food, which is apparently a BIG no no.

It's one of those weeks that makes me so thankful to be a mother. I often take my children for granted. They are so well behaved, so independent, so forgiving and loving, just to name a few. Now that they are older, I forget that they still need me as much or that they just want to play. I am so thankful for the family I have. We love being together and I hope that's always the case.
