A Late Birthday Post

Wednesday was Chris' birthday. The kids got up early and helped decorate the kitchen for him. Caely made him a card at school and let us all sign it.

This birthday was all about surprises for Chris. He's really hard to shop for, so we thought it'd be fun to keep him in suspense about everything we planned. We had Chris come home early from work, so right when he got home and the kids were back from school, we headed down to Utah County for his first surprise.

We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. Although we've only been there once before, our family loves this place. It must be the yummy, hot rolls!

After dinner we took Chris for his second surprise, Trafalga! He hasn't been there yet with the kids and they've really wanted to show him all the fun they have. We played lazer tag and watched the kids climb the rock wall and other rides. Mini golf was closed and a youth group came in and took up the lazer tag, so we cut our time short. It was still a lot of fun.

My birthday present to Chris was to take him to iFly up in Ogden, his parents chipped in so he could have more time in the wind tunnel. My brother's 30th birthday is a week after Chris', so we asked them if they wanted to join us. Chris had no idea until we got up there what he was in for.

*this picture is supposed to be at the end, but I couldn't figure out how to move it.
I couldn't tell if Chris was excited or not. He says he was very apprehensive. I don't think it's something he willingly would have picked for himself, but now that he's done it he would love to make it a new hobby. Too bad it's so far away. This is the guys getting ready for their first try.
They both went really high, probably about 10+ feet in the tunnel. It was really cool to watch. I laughed the whole time, my face hurt!
The second time in the tunnel they felt a little more experienced and tried testing the wind to make them do turns and stuff.
After they were done, the instructor put on a show for us. It was amazing the things he could do. It was a mix of Spiderman and Ironman. He ran up the walls, jumped, hovered, and did flips. Seriously awesome!

Right after our session, the iFly team came in and worked on some of their moves. That too was incredible.
Our last stop was at Iggy's for some lunch. It was so relaxing to sit as adults and visit. Then it was time to head back home to reality.
Happy Birthday Babe, we hope you had the best experience ever. Love you!
