White=Good, Pink=Bad

I'm feeling extremely grateful this morning for all the wonderful blessings I have. It' s not just because it's Thanksgiving either.

Yesterday, after school, I noticed Patch's eyes looked a little red. Not goobery though, so I thought he might have had a little too much Nintendo.

As the day wore on, Patch's eyes started looking worse. Also as the day wore on we (Utah) were supposed to get a huge blizzard that would shut down the whole valley. The sky was black at 4pm an I was not about to head out for fear of what was coming.

Around 9pm I decided to see the damage the storm had brought and saw that, while it had snowed, it wasn't too bad, and the winds had definitely died down.

I dragged Chris and Patch out to have him checked. The roads were so peaceful. The sky was so bright, it was really pleasant. We had called the doctor's office before we left and found they were closing, but they said they would wait for us. I can't believe the kindness that was shown. It was the fastest visit we've ever had!

We then headed to Smith's pharmacy, hoping they were still open. It was 9:50pm. Our other option was 5 miles away, and although that's not too far, it was still snowing like crazy. I walked in to find the bars closed on the pharmacy entrance, but the light was still on. I headed over, everyone there had coats on and keys in hand. They stopped all that they were doing to fill our order. By now I'm feeling extremely blessed and watched over.

As I drive home, I realize that I've never seen so many snowplows on the road at the same time before. I think how if they weren't out, I probably wouldn't have been able to make any of the trips that I did. Although I have an awesome vehicle, it's still slick and slow out there and I wouldn't want to endanger my family or anyone else on the roads.

We arrived home safe and sound. After getting Patch his drops and into bed, I had a moment to think of all our good fortune that night. Chris and I talked about getting the kids up early to start shoveling, we were still expecting many more inches than had already fallen. I also heard there was a good chance the power would be out by morning, so I had extra blankets nearby just in case.

When I woke this morning, it was COLD! but it looked as if the snow stopped shortly after we came in last night. No school closures, no city shut downs, full electricity, we were fine. I am so grateful that the NEWS prepared us for the worse and it came out the best.

I am so thankful for doctors and dedications, pharmacists and education, snowplows, snow storms, the NEWS, my husband and a Heavenly Father who watches out for us all.

Happy Thanksgiving!
