Going The Distance

I've just completed my second year of running. I am so grateful to have picked up the sport and challenged my body in a way I never would have imagined. I know there's more to do, but I'm so happy with were I'm at right now.

Last year, after totaling my miles run for 2009, I realized I was so close to running 1,000 miles that I made that my goal this year. I'm happy to say I've just passed my last years miles and have 163.7 miles to go with just under two months to do it.

I'm starting to get discouraged. I'm so close and fear that my time will not allow for this goal to be completed. I'm sure I'm just freaking out because I was really busy this week, but with the holidays approaching, I don't really see an end in sight.

So to all my runner friends, if you're running, help me complete this goal. I know I can do this, I just need a few friends by my side.

Well, if you figure there's about 8 weeks left of the year, that's about 20.5 miles per week. With as much as you run, and the distances that you can go, You can totally do this. Don't be discouraged. You have accomplished so much!

And also, goals are to push us to be and do more than we thought possible. They are NOT to make us feel like a failure if we fall a little short. You have already passed your total for last year. That's GREAT!!! You will achieve or come very close to your amazing goal for this year. Be proud. No matter what!
