An Attempt

So, I have these crazy friends that are hard core runners. Heidi (the ring leader) had this great idea to go trail running up Millcreek Canyon. I've never been trail running before, but I love Millcreek, these girls, and running so I thought that would be the best mix.We brought our families up and our wonderful husbands were looking after the kids while we were on our run.

About a quarter of a mile in, I took a nasty fall and cut up my hands, tore my shirt, scraped my shoulder and scraped and bruised my hip. Let's just say I didn't start/finish the run. I headed back to the cabin where Connie's husband and daughter were so sweet and bandaged me up.
I spent the rest of the evening watching the kids running around, drinking hot chocolate. It was really nice to be up there on a crisp, autumn night. The kids roasted marshmallows, care of the other good moms who planned ahead, and had a really fun time playing with each other.

The girls did amazing, they went 6+ miles and looked totally refreshed when they got back. That mountain air is good for the soul.
I seriously can't wait until next time when I can run the full course. Yes, there will be a next time!
