I really could just cry, in fact, I already did.
This morning while doing Caely's hair for school, she got REALLY sick all of the sudden. She said her throat was on fire and her stomach was hurting. Her ears were pounding and she was dizzy. Her face went pale and then green. She fell to the floor, but didn't pass out. I was trying to help her to the floor, and her body just went to dead weight. It was really scary. Then Caely tried to throw up (I know, you didn't want to know that). I asked her to try and finish her hair so it would be out of her way, but when she got back to the counter, she said again that she felt funny, but worse. She wasn't just pale, she was white. Her lips were whiter than I've ever seen on anyone. She again went to the floor.
I hurried to the phone to call all the necessary people in order to get kids to and from school, but I first called Shalynn to take the babies. Of course she drops everything and helps me out. She fed my kids and got Alexa ready for school, then she brought her home so she could be picked up for preschool. Not only that, but she hauled Patch off to the orthodontist appointment she had for her daughter. She is amazing. I can't believe her willingness to serve others. It is such a relief to have such great friends I know I don't have to feel forever indebted to when I ask such favors (even thought I do).
When I got home from the doctors and our HOUR wait for her prescription to be filled, I went to put the Amoxicillin in the fridge and what do I find? Dinner. What??? Who has time to make dinner so early in the morning for me, a crazy lady with a sick kid. Shalynn. Not that she has time, but she just does what it takes to take care of a friends. I'm sure I've totally embarrassed her by all this, but I am forever grateful and indebted to her. Thank you Shalynn.
By the way, Caely ended up with strep. We just ended on Monday, Alexa's prescription for her ear infection. Man I love giving kids medicine for FOREVER!

Ihere is no feeling of helplessness quite like watching our kids hurting! Glad Shalynn was there for you! She's amazing!
I agree, Shalynn is amazing. Glad everyone survived. Hope Caely feels better soon!
Amen. I would be lost without her. I don't think she's really a mortal. I am convinced she is an angel in disguise.
Where on Earth did it take you an hour to have a prescription filled??? That is crazy.
Shalynn is amazing. Step is driving me crazy, I have never seen such a bad year of it. It's been terrible. And to make her just about pass out is so scary! Hope she feels better.
Oh my goodness, what a scary experience. You are lucky to have such a friend as Shalynn. She is a saint!
