Ward Camp Out

*Lots of pictures

Friday we got all packed up and ready to go. Every time we have a Ward camp out I dread going. You never know how it's going to turn out. There's lots to pack for just one night, you don't know who will show up, it just seems like lots of work for the unknown.

Every time I'm so glad we went.

This year we went up by Wanship, past Park City. It's a little over an hour drive from our house. When we got there we set up our tent while Patch and Alexa went wandering. They came across this moose and her baby. (I couldn't ever see the baby) Our neighbor, Brandon caught a frog.
We stopped for dinner, some KFC. We usually make dinner while we're up there but this year I opted for easy. After dinner we went down by the lake and the kids canoed or ran around. At dark they put on a movie for the kids while the adults and youth played games.
Bright and early we were up and ready for more canoeing!

It was great to have all these friends there with us. The youth were so helpful, they were always willing to take out a younger kid in the canoes.

 The lake had leeches, GROSS!!!
This is about 1/2 the kids that were up there. Not a big group this year, which was really nice.
There was a zip line over the water. This is Caely, she is such a rock star!

Tyler getting ready for his first attempt.

Alexa braved it and made it the whole way across!

 Patch too!!

He stopped just short of the shore and Brother Fisher waded in and pulled him out.
Caely decided to get a little crazy...
She jumped in! Ewe, remember? There are leeches and frogs in here!

I had to try it for myself. It was awesome!
The rest of the day we spent cleaning up and playing games, visiting and getting to know some of the newer members of our ward better.

On our way out we spotted the baby and her mom in the tall grass.
 That's one BIG moose head!
I'm already looking forward to next year.

I would have made myself go on the zipline but I wouldn't have it made it across! Mind still thinks I'm 25 and I'm totally not! And that is a huge moose!
