Primary Pianist

For the last two years I've been the Primary Pianist for our church. There was a while when I really disliked it. It's probably my favorite calling but the kids can be very irreverent. About a year ago I decided to just enjoy playing the music and not think about the irreverence. Since then I have loved my calling.
Today I realized one of the big reasons I love my calling is because I'm the last thing they hear as they walk out the doors. It's up to me to set the tone for the rest of their day. Someone may say something to them that they'll forget two seconds later, but I'm the one who puts the song in their head that they are going to hum the rest of the day. Today as I played I could hear the kids humming or quietly singing as they were being excused. It was awesome.
It's up to me to reinforce a new song learned or to remind them of an old song they learned. I love my calling and I am so very thankful for my gift of music. It has brought me joy my whole life. I am privileged to get to spend each week with these cute kids and hear them sing about their Savior and the blessings he shares.
