Dirty Fun

There is this 5K run called Color Me Rad. A bunch of neighbor friends were all participating in it so our family decided to volunteer to help out.

We got there and it was FREEZING!!! The kids were great. They got right to work, putting together their signs and blowing up beach balls.
Then we loaded in the back of a big moving truck and headed to our station.

The kids were great, they all helped put the signs in place, lugged color buckets to their posts and got ready for the runners. We were lucky to be at the first color throw station, it was fun to see everyone go from white shirts to covered in color.

Patch couldn't wait to get his little hands dirty.
After the run we cleaned up the road best we could and headed to our car. I had no idea we would get just as dirty as the runners!

Such a fun day. I think our kids will remember that for a long time to come. Even though it was fun to volunteer and be part of the set up, I think we all agreed that this was WAY to dirty of a time to do again. We'll have to look for another race to volunteer as a family again.
