Christmas Cousins

We are so lucky and blessed to have my brother and his family living around the corner. It's so nice to have them close. We might not see them daily but we've already reaped some benefits of them living here. My brother saved me one night that I was stuck in traffic, he got Caely off to her dance and picked up Patch, took him to his house and fed him dinner. I know any of my friends would do that too but it's nice to have family around. Teresa's already treated my to an amazing lunch at her house and I enjoy visiting with her. She brings the kids home each day while our other carpool friend is off track.

One of the newest blessing is having our kids attend the same school. Their oldest and my youngest are both in kindergarten. How fun for Patch to spend his school years with his cousin!

The kindergarten put on a Christmas Program. Patch has been practicing diligently for weeks. He sings me his songs every day when he gets home from school. He's talked about it non stop.
That's Patch and Jackie on the top back row.
Through the entire performance Jackie stood tall and proud. Sang every word beautifully and did all the actions when supposed to. She smiled and looked like an angel.
Patch on the other hand...he turned at stared at the big screen behind him, played with his shadows and barely noticed he was performing. Jackie would occasionally elbow him to focus but it didn't really work. He was the kid everyone noticed was not singing and they, I'm sure, were all glad it wasn't their kid up there.
He still did his best and we love going to see our kids in whatever they are doing.

I love having family close ~ it truly is a blessing! I laugh at the performance because the 1st time Dallin and Deserae were in school together was Kindergarten and Rae was doing so great and Dallin was playing around with the boys... of course!
