I was away this last weekend at a race so on one of my check in calls with Chris he told me how Tyler had taught Deacons Quorum and one of the adults attending stopped him and told Chris what a great job Tyler did. Of course I was not surprised. Tyler is a great speaker. He's funny and does a good job making eye contact, plus there is something about him that makes you want to listen.
Anyhow, about an hour after talking to Chris on of my sweet friends called to let me know what she had overheard in the halls at church while someone was talking to her hubby, who happens to be the Young Men's President. She told me I should be a proud mom, that this person talking had said what a great job Tyler had done and how impressed he was with the lesson he gave. So of course I was super proud and couldn't wait to talk to Tyler when I got home.
Tyler was very casual as I talked to him and it's funny because he likes giving talks and he likes being good at what he does but I don't think he realized what an impression he made. I think that's a good thing, we don't want it to go to his head :)
I have always known Tyler has a special mission here and I hope he continues to grow in his ability to talk to people comfortably. I'm glad he had this opportunity to teach and hope there are many more for him. I'm so lucky to have such awesome kids!

Good for Tyler! Public speaking is such a great gift. It will serve him well. And good for you and Chris too. You are obviously teaching him what he needs to know.
Pay day for all your hard work teaching.. yeah, it's not over yet, but you know it's sinking in and Tyler's using it to serve the Lord!
