Lost Brain Cells

I should tell you that I love Tyler. He is super funny and really smart. He's great to be around. The kid gets sarcasm and timing. I always feel at ease around Tyler, he's easy to talk to and play with.

The last few days I want to beat him. He's seriously lost some brain cells or something. It must be from the extra long summer break he gets. I really need him to go to school. I have asked a few things of Tyler in the last few days that he either completely heard something else or forgot with in milliseconds. He also can't see in front of his face, it must be teen brain.

A few moments ago I asked him to go get the pliers from the tool box. While I stood there waiting, I realized it was taking him longer than it should. I went over to see what the problem was, he was standing there staring at the shelf with the tool box and this is literally what he said to me. "I can't find them".

Did I mention the tool box was closed and he was a good two feet from even touching the tool box?

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

How long does this last?

I'll tell you girlfriend, I'm feeling the pain of the tweenager years too! It's like I'm hearing you live my life with Drew. Can't wait for school, either!

Sorry, my darling, this is more than just lost brain cells. This is a combination of teen brain and male brain. A double whammy. Men are just not wired to "find" things. It's insanely annoying.

I could tell you what's coming, but I know you don't have time to go to therapy. Ben's been having "teen/male brain" for over a year now. He will stare right at what you asked for and swear up and down it is not there. You can ask him for your purse in the other room and he will come back with a glass of water or a pillow. It's SO hard not to take it personally, but the sad truth is, they can't help it! Let's just pray a lot for each other, k? ;)
