Saturday morning our family took off up to Pine View Reservoir for some camping with the cousins. Other than a ward camp out earlier this year, we haven't taken our kids camping before so they were very excited.

First thing we did after unloading the car and setting up the tents was to take a moment to relax.

There were huge grassy area's to play. We brought up the Frisbee and a soccer ball to play with. Teresa brought up some fun toys, a dart board, horse shoes, and a volley/beach ball.

During the afternoon, my brother started telling us this random funny story about a guy who was freaking out about seeing a double rainbow. The guy had never seen one before and was quite excited about the miracle of the double rainbow.

While dinner was cooking (it took a little longer than I anticipated) it started to rain, and then pour. We ran to put the rain flies on the tent and move the food. When we looked up, what did we find...?

The DOUBLE RAINBOW!

We could see it from end to end, it was magnificent!
We had a good laugh at the coincidence of it all.

Saturday night, Tyler started not feeling well but he was a good sport and continued playing with us all. Sunday my brother and I headed down the canyon to find an urgent care, I was sure he had strep. We didn't find anything, so we headed up to camp and Tyler toughed it out.

Monday morning the kids wanted to play a trick on their Uncle and Aunt. They got the car marker out and wrote on our cars, trying to blame it on some random camper that passed through.

What a smarty!

Blah is for Tyler being sick,
Caely's said "Camping good". Apparently she's part cave woman.

Where's the lake in all this, you ask? I didn't bring my camera down to the beach area. We had so much fun playing in the water, I even dove off one of the boat dock/loading area's and Alexa practiced her swimming.
Every night when we'd go to bed one or all of my kids would say something to the effect of it being "the best day ever". Definitely a great family memory!
