Tyler has graduated the 5th grade, which translates that he can now participate in the 11yr. old Scout program.
This morning I sent him off for his first scout camp out.
I am not prepared.
It must be all the anxiety over my oldest starting 6th grade.
I know he'll have a blast, and he has so many friends in the group. Plus, he has amazing scout leaders, I know they'll look out for him and keep him safe. I really am thankful to these men that put in the time to teach my kid and keep him safe. Neither of them have boys in scouting. Yes, they are amazing.
Tyler packed all his stuff by himself. I didn't even check it, I just asked if he had this or that. My controlling side is freaking out, but my motherly side is happy I let him learn and I'm hoping for the best.

Good for you letting him pack his own.. I told Drew what to grab and he got it, that was version of letting him pack his own! hahaha... Good for you growing up kids mean growing up parents!
On we go!
I'm very impressed that you let him just take care of his packing himself. That is so important that we do that as mothers. Letting our children take responsibility and being willing to let them suffer the consequences if they happen to be unprepared in some way is a tough, tough thing. But the pride he will feel in knowing that he did it himself is priceless.
Great job.
