Simplify

It's after dinner and the house is a mess. You've been cleaning and running errands all day, just to have the kids come home from school and dump their stuff while you put together dinner. So what happens? You put off today what you can do tomorrow...like cleaning. Well, the next day you are just as busy and before you know it your house is turned upside down and "no one" made the mess, so no one wants to help clean it up.

I got tired of arguing with my kids about who did "this" and "that" so Chris and I made a chore chart for after dinner clean up. The kids were super excited to wash the dishes by hand, I know that will soon be a dread. We made it super easy so we don't have a lot to keep track of, and if we miss a day, we still turn the wheel but the mess won't be too big for the next person to do. Plus, we have "the helper" to help in the bigger jobs or to help Patch.

Where it says Dinner and Family, they are the person saying that prayer for the day. Again, tired of arguing about who's day it was to pray so we fixed that problem right quick!

We have been doing this for two full turns of the wheel and then some. It has worked great! My kids get to learn about helping even if it's not their stuff and I get to wake up to a clean house. LOVE IT!

Looks like a great method! I'm working on a chore chart of my own. When it's done and we've tried it out, I'll post about it. :) Glad yours is working for ya!

What a great idea! We do tidy time after dinner, but a lot of the time it becomes a big argument....maybe we need to try something fresh. Hope it continues to work.

good idea, I might have to steal it. This is Emily Cummings by the way.
