Patch started school today! He is such a big boy now. He was so proud to put on his backpack. The kids had to make little sacks about them, he put McQueen, dinosaurs, a bike, scooter, his age and his favorite colors on it. It was such a cute project, and Patch thought it was great he had homework. Me, not so much! It is crazy having 4 kids with homework. Really it was fine, Patch enjoyed finding the things to put on his sack and I was surprised at what he said no to.
It was kind of like any other day having him gone. I didn't even get sad, which I really thought I would. Actually, I had a friend and her family have a horrible accident this morning, our whole neighborhood was sadly effected by this (she was on the corner of the street, not the middle of the crosswalk like the news reports). I'd rather not write about it, it's been a hard day.
Anyhow, while Patch was gone I got a little scouting stuff done, talked to some friends, picked up Lexi and the car pool kids from school, and my time was over. We'll see how next week goes when I feel like he's really gone to school and not just a play date.
