What a Day!

We had such a busy but amazingly spiritual day yesterday.
Our family started the day by participating in a Fun Run at the elementary school. It was so fun! (Can you even believe, no pictures!?) Patch and Lexi rode their scooters, I chased after them. Caely ran while Chris and Tyler had a leisurely walk. I ended up losing Alexa somewhere along the way. Chris went to the car for her and I headed back down the trail. As I was running I just kept praying that we would find her soon. I knew she was fine, but I was worried she was scared. I knew the whole time I was headed in the wrong direction, but I wasn't sure where to go. I turned around and headed back to the school to find my sweet daughter sitting on the grass w/ her dad having an ice cream. She wasn't worried one bit! She even went through the finish line, all by herself! I am so thankful for prayer and the comfort our Father in Heaven grants us in times of need.

After the race I took Tyler to the doctors. Poor kid has bad allergies and an ear infection. Just moments after we arrived, there was a terrible accident at the intersection. We could see most of what was going on from their window. I was so sad to see all the on lookers, I know they don't really find joy in other peoples miseries, but sometimes it looks that way.
It just makes me so sad that in a moment lives can change forever. I had to take a moment to pray for those hurt and their families. It overwhelms me to think that could be me one day.

We then had regular Saturday activities. Lexi had a soccer game and Tyler had football.

Caely, Tyler and I were blessed to witness the baptism of our dear friend, Celia.
Celia was my neighbor across the street from me in Sandy and she saved my life (or Caelys) multiple times. Caely was so hard, and Celia was always there to lend a helping hand. She has been the most Christ like person I have ever met. She has blessed everyone who knows her. Yesterday she made the choice to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter~day Saints. I am so thankful she allowed me to be apart of this wonderful day.

These are our other dear neighbors, the McKee's. They are like a third pair of grandparents to my kids. We just love our old neighbors. It was so nice to see our great friends!

After the baptism, we picked up Grandma Leslie and headed downtown to watch the Temple Celebration the youth put on at the Conference Center. Can I just say, "WOW". It was awesome.
Tyler and Caely were glued to the stage. The dancing and singing was just beautiful, and the kids did such an amazing job.
I wanted Tyler and Caely to remember this night, and hopefully aspire to be like these youth.
As we drove all over the valley yesterday, we had the opportunity to see all four Salt Lake County temples. How lucky and blessed we are to live in a place surrounded by The House of The Lord.
I really hope this was a strengthening experience for my kids, I know it was for me.

On Saturday afternoon I was thinking to myself that I needed to do better at seeing Celia more. (When we were car pooling to school we saw each other a lot, but now I don't know her schedule and I haven't been a great friend.) So on Sunday I was so supprised and happy to find out that I would get to see her more often. She really is an amazing person! I'm glad that she was surrounded by her closest friends at her baptism.

Busy, busy! I hate that sickening feeling when you can't find a kid. Especially when they just don't want to answer you as you frantically run around the house/yard looking for them... yeah, don't ask... (sophie, this morning, 'nuff said)

Oh my gosh!!! How cool that Celia was baptized. I knew she was a "dry" Mormon. What an amazing blessing!
