I was driving home this morning, thinking about my husband, and how he is so committed to giving us "the life". Then I realized that I already am living that life.
We all have struggles, trials, hopes and dreams unfulfilled. If that's what you hold on to, then what do you have to look forward too? Why do we continue to fight to say our lives are harder than...or, you don't understand because...
I have the greatest life. My kids are healthy, kind, generous, loud, caring, helpful, unhelpful, beautiful and loving. My husband continues to give more than he needs to and loves me anyway. I have constant struggles that help me grow and learn, I love it, not always, but in the end I'm thankful for the lesson learned.
All this is kind of stemming from a lesson we had yesterday about truly being free. As an LDS person we have a few things that are "against the rules" and to some one else might make us look imprisoned by our religion.
Someone then brought up the point that if you can't go a day with out a cigarette or coffee then aren't you the one imprisoned? Aren't we/I free in the sense that I don't have to depend on something not good for my body. Then I thought about how I love my Dt. Coke* and how I was not a "free" agent because I felt I couldn't live w/out it.
Okay, I could live w/out it, but I REALLY wanted it.
Anyhow, it just got me thinking about how making positive changes in ones life can help you see how, no matter what is going on or how hard things are, you can "LIVE THE LIFE".
I have lots of growing and learning to do. I just am so thankful to be making baby steps and hopefully I am making a more positive life for myself and my beautiful family.
*This was not an attempt to rid anyone of their Dt. Coke. Just a personal point for myself ~ no judgment was placed in any part for anything you may have in your life that helps you make it through the day. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND :)

Your post reminded me of a sign I saw the other day when I was shopping....I don't know if this is one of those new sayings, or if everyone has heard it and I'm just slow....but it said "Today's Trials are Tomorrow's Testimony". Whatever we are going through today helps us be stronger tomorrow. Thanks for the thoughts!
Well thank goodness you weren't chastising me into making me give up the diet coke. I'm not ready to take THAT step yet. :)
The rest of your post is great! I love when we have those moments (however fleeting they may be) where you can appreciate the beautiful thing that is your life. Those moments come and go, but it's wonderful to recognize and acknowledge them.
Watch out, you're starting to sound like a grown-up! lol... Love ya!
Em.. thank you! You know sometimes we just have to stop and really look at the blessings we already have to appreciate the blessings that are coming to us! Because of you, I have stopped to appreciate the blessings I do have today!
You are the best at thinking out loud and I love when you do it! ;p
