Enjoying The Moment

As you know, parenting can be the hardest task we take on in this life. The other day my son was at a friends and my comment was, 'I hope he was good for you'. Her reply, 'oh, he was great. He always makes us laugh!'. Then this morning my mom mentioned how my grandma just loves that same little boy and how excited she is to see him. To which I said, 'yes, he just has something magical about him'. I've had similar comments made to me before, but I'm always to overwhelmed with this kid to realize his potential to make others happy.
I finally realized that what seems like my hardest kid at the moment can also be a heaven send. I need to enjoy the moments with him instead of avoiding him. What a blessing to be able to see that before it was too late and he was grown. Thank you to all who love my magic boy.

I believe I have made comments about the "magical boy" too! Thanks for the insight and reminder to look for the good in my own kids (who drive me crazy!)

It's way easy to get caught up in the discipline and guiding/correcting mode, and you're right. We probably ALL need to look at our children through stranger's eyes. (not STRANGERS, but you know what I mean. just not parenting eyes. hehe)
